Ben Passmore Cartoon on the Nib

Congratulations to the Nib for getting a great writer, and to Ben for getting a bigger audience! The article is called “Black Lives Matter, the ACLU and Respectability Politics.” It puts the ACLU in their place, it tries to ram into your dumbfuck white internet-liberal face how Black Lives Matter is stuck in a compromise with its oppressor’s society (YOU), and, as always, shines the historical light on anarchism’s role in democracy, something this country’s sense of history badly needs.

Picture by Ben Passmore. Screen-captured out of respect and collegiality only.

Besides a lot of things, one thing I really dig about Ben is how much research he puts into everything, and how he makes his sources visible. Make sure to check out his other comics too.

Women’s March San Jose 21.1.2017

Went to the Women’s March this morning, a response nationwide to Trump’s inauguration, and hoped to see a bunch of little 12 year old girls rule motherfuckers on their special day. But of course that kind of confidence and ownership takes time. This is your world, girls, do your thing! There were lots of teachers, lots of retired liberals, lots of babies and lots of pussy hats. Some generally bored-looking men, some obligated-looking men, some young girls scoping the whole thing out doubtlessly trying to figure out where they fit in.

Here’s the crowd at Shitty Hall, fourth and Santa Clara:

The whole thing remained pretty Hwite, I’m sorry to report, unless there was a section of people of color on the other side of the street that I never saw. The crowd was of such size and I was with a group of people of such size that once the thing got moving you were often stuck where you were.

Hwite liberals:

As far as I saw there was only one elderly man in a contrary position, up on the balcony of the Rotary building’s parking garage with a sign that said we were bullying Trump by marching. Can one bully, can one be bigoted against, those who have all the power?

Apropos bullying, my favorite sign is the one about the mango:

All in all the day was a success, because any day when car traffic is barred from downtown is a good day. The convocation at Plaza César Chávez devolved into a bit of a pissing match for local politicians en lieu of a better-organized guide to groups represented in the march to inform the interested. There was even a shameless appearance by Sam Liccardo himself, él de la mayor desvergüenza, hijo de puta y mamón de su propia verga, so I left before it ended. A good time was had by all and we practiced being squished together on the streets!

Fake Apologies Stand at Standing Rock

So we don’t mind treating veterans like shit but we fall for every little gesture they make on behalf of empire, grasping up their sentiments for our own like good little consumers.
A handful of white men who happen to be veterans bow down and “beg forgiveness” according to the article for 500 years of war crimes against native Americans and we’re all supposed to be touched?

This is nigh empirical proof that white men don’t have the strength of character not to be liked by someone. This is a “check your privilege” situation par excellence. Maybe we shouldn’t raise them anymore to please the power structure through work, rape and killing. Leonard Crow Dog, this is coercion! Don’t be fooled, stand your ground!

Where is the fucking thing. Here it is. Let’s do a little “middle class fake white guilt and people of color who went to college empathy” experiment shall we? Let’s see how yall comment on this.

Possible quote: Hey I’m Wes “Columbus” Clark, I’m looking for a reality TV show or something, and I came out here to get some attention! Maybe the Pentagon will even get some sympathy from the people after waging war for 100 years for oil and Lebensraum, that could raise my pension or something!

Or maybe Salon is trying to make its own reality since President Trump has sanctioned that for them. Anyhow, now is not the time to forgive and forget, people. White people, North Americans, the three Abrahamic poison religions, have never been held responsible for what they’ve done to the world. We need to consciously inescapably KNOW that the world hates us for a good solid 200 years, then when the ego and the power are long gone, we can start talking about reconciliation. If the suffering does not come back around, the apology then remains part of the violence. First of all, you apologize and your NEVER ask for forgiveness! That’s not your role in an apology!

I charge Wes Clark with capital phoniness, the press with yellow wishful thinking, and all yall motherfuckers with stupidity for lending your (doubtless mostly empty) good feelings to news of this trumped-up event.
